PROTEC Pietermaritzburg Academy: As a leading NGO providing quality enrichment education in Maths/Sciences to students in Grades 9 – 12 mainly from disadvantaged communities, we have always been able to rely upon Ms Taryn Govender, who jumped on board our World of Work Programme, when we first developed our personalised Grade 12 Career Guidance Module. With her boundless energy, infectious enthusiasm, fluency in English and Zulu and unaffected charm, she soon had a Class of 40 students from 15 different schools focused upon a single goal – that of developing their own academic and emotional potential, to fully explore and utilise their strengths and talents. Taryn is an important part of Career Days and Workshops uncovering Study Options suited to an array of academic and vocational abilities. And she has been with us, as an NPO with a small budget every step of the way, every year, since 2007. We wish Taryn every success in her new and exciting venture!
